I love my children! That said I don't have to like them all the time do I? Or maybe it is just that they don't have to be perfect all the time, it would be boring right? Well sign me up for boring after yesterday. So J is sick again. I think it is Strep and we will be going to the Dr today as soon as they open to spend lots of money for her to tell me that. Anyway she has had a fever which then makes her vomit, she is at least old enough now to usually make it in to a container or the bathroom. So poor J just wants to snuggle and watch movies and sleep. Then there is the little one. My imp!!!! Now it is nap time yesterday and J is already sleeping soundly in her bed but M doesn't want to go to bed. So we play all the delaying games, you know "I have to go potty, I want a drink, I need something to snuggle..." finally we get her settled down and head downstairs for some lunch for the adults. Not long after we hear noises that definitely do not sound like sleeping child coming form upstairs. Hubby goes up and checks, yep M is up playing in the toy box. Back to bed for another round. Then it is my turn up I go to find her sitting in the top drawer of her dresser eating lotion and mixing it with desitin to make a nice paste that does not easily come out of the clothes she was sitting on. Fine some clean clothes a stern talking to and back off to bed. Now Hubby and I are downstairs reading and enjoying the quite Hubby goes up just to check, the quite seems a bit ominous. Good call hubby! He finds M standing in the sink in the bathroom going through the med cabinet. Nothing scarier than that. She didn't get into anything bad but still. This time we sat in time out and cried for a bit before going back to bed. Then (nope not done yet) she jumped on her sleeping sisters head. Now awake J was allowed to come back down stairs while M was once more put back in bed and I put the gate up across the doorway to keep her in there. Not too much later we hear crying and Hubby goes up to find her naked and peeing on the floor by the gate. So he putts her in on the potty and comes down to get me (M making it quite clear that she didn't want him) I grab the cleaning stuff and head up. M insists she still has to go potty and after a bit I get tired of standing there waiting so I give her some clean clothes and tell her to come down when she is done. I go downstairs to throw out the messy paper towels and then head back up to see if she is done. But to top off the fun filled day she did not sit there until finished she got up and took a "bath" in the potty. Used the toilet cleaning brush and everything. I gave it all up and laughed. Then I threw her in the tub and gave her a good scrub. We all headed downstairs to enjoy the rest of a relaxing day.
On Wed I went on my first school trip as a chaperone with the girls. We went to the Land of Make Believe. First we got to ride on the school bus, a first for both the girls. J was very excited, M (my little one)was a bit apprehensive but settled in just fine. Each of the girls got a school T-shirt to wear while at the park. They were a very nice heather green but only came in kids small which was a bit big for J and looked like a cute dress for M.(to my surprise we got to keep them after the trip) When we got to the park the head of the school split us into small more manageable groups and set us free. Our group was made up of the littlest ones that went. We had six children and three adults so everyone could hold hands which with that age group was great. The kids were all very well behaved and had a great time on the rides and in the water.
