Rainbows

Saw the most beautiful rainbow yesterday. Full arch and soooo briliant and bright. I have not seen one like that in a long time.

Question of the day....

Why are rainbows always red on top and blue on bottom ?

I know they are in order according to the spectrum but why always red on top?

1 you always talk about birds. If you were a bird what kind would you be?
A: I would be a Merlin. A small raptor that catches birds on the wing and migrates south for the winter.

2. Favorite candle scent is?

A: Depends on the season I tend to like the food scents in the winter like cinnamon and apple pie but I like a fresher scent in the summer like sage or ocean mist.

3. If you could change your career to anything , what career path would you choose?

A: well I am trying but it will take a while. I want to work with the birds I so love. Study their migration patterns and help where I can. And when I finish school in about ten years hopefully I will!

This depends on the island but since it was not specified I will assume a deserted island with everything I would need to survive(food and water)in that case...

A: Well cash the check because I don't think I would quit my job just cut down the hours a bit.

Daycare day one!

Seemes the girls had a wonderful time at day care. I managed to call only once and I could hear them laughing in the background. When I picked them up Leslie told me how very well behaved they were. No nap for J but other ten that a great day. J actually asked when she could go back.

How nice it is to know they are in better hands.

College

Well it is official!! Yep, I am a poor college student again. I recieved my acceptance letter from Rutgers via e-mail yesterday. Now I just have to figure out what classes I am supposed to take and we will be on our way.

Nerveous Wreck

Well, the girls start their new day care today and I am so nervous!!! I will be calling this poor woman all day and checking in. I hope everything works out alright. Why can't I have a job where they can come with me or I can work at home.....errrrrr!

]]> Melora is walking everyday now. She will just stand up at odd moments and walk over to something without prompting! Juliet is so cute she just wanted a sung all day yesterday. We were in the store and she says "Snug me Mommy!!"

Wed. night fencing

Had a blast fencing last night. My wonderful friend Kate came over to watch the girls and G and I actually got to go to the same practice for once. There were so many people there that we couldn't all fence at once for lack of space. Heather is doing great and her hand seems to be getting better and I don't feel quite so bad about my form anymore. Still need to get in lots of practice before Pensic but at least we are getting started!

]]> I forgot how painful the next day could be...I have a brise the size of a silver dollar on my left arm and my thighs hurt whenever I crouch down for something. :)

Babies!!!

It is now officially spring! I saw my first family of Canadian goslings today. They were so cute all yellow and fluffy. So now keep an eye out for goose crossings were ever you may go.

Blast from the Past

Just now on some TV talk show or another(I never watch them and I didn't watch long enough to find out) I heard a voice I recognised. I look up and it is Cindy Lauper. I haven't heard her since high school. She sounded great and looked good. She might have been promoting a new alblum but I could not tell and being at work I couldn't stand around and listen. I liked the song she was singing it sounded very her. As the show ended they played "Girls just wanna have fun" ah what memories......

The right to choose

]]> This is a very important issue. No one should have the right to tell a woman what to do with her body. Personally I don't think I could have an abortion but I do believe in every womans right to choose.

Religious Rant

I don't do a lot of ranting and this is a touchy subject so if you don't want to get into it go to the next entry...

]]> Ok....Someone I respect and care for very much sent me an e-mail regarding prayer at football games and school and I have to say it really got me going.

I am a Christian and I pray all the time. I do it to myself and no one bothers me. I am all for going to church and teaching my children about God. I do not however think it is necessary for anyone else to teach them these things. I do take them to church and they will go to Sunday school. This is where people should learn about their beliefs at their Church (whatever the religion) on their own time.

I also believe it is my duty as a Christian to share the good news with others. I do however draw the line at a captive audience. I do not think it is appropriate or necessary to force people to listen to a Christian prayer before a game or at the beginning of the day in school. If you want to have a moment of silence that is fine.

This is a free country and though we are the majority we are not alone. It is a fine ambition to spread the beliefs of the Church and to pray before important events but this should not be forced. As for the argument that we are the majority and that this country was based on the Christian faith it was also based on freedom. We need to realize what that really means. If you want to pray go ahead, I do, but I don't think we should force anyone else to listen.

In countries that are not free and that do not allow for religious freedoms I would expect to listen to an appropriate prayer and I would not be insulted. But this country is free and people should be free to do as they wish.

History

My loving husband bought me a self printed booklet on the history of our town a few days ago and I finally got the chane to read it today. They do not mention my house but they do mention the people who used to own it. The barn two doors down used to be a wheel-wright shop and they made carriages on the second floor. There is a picture of it and everything.

]]> The writing was a bit amature (not that I could do much better) but it was really neat to find out all about the area and the families that started our town. Some of the people and their decendants are still in town including my neighbor who's family actually was one of the first around. I learned all about how the airport came to be and who runs it to this day. My own house built in the early 1820's is not even one of the oldest. Pretty cool stuff!!
